Glass Slippers, a four-year-old daughter of Dream Ahead, trained by Kevin Ryan, became the first European-trained winner of the Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint at Keeneland Saturday night, finishing strongly from midfield under Tom Eaves to record a historic victory. The only European contender among a highly-competitive 14-strong field of the best turf sprinters […]
Insightful, a two year old colt out of Avodale, breaks his maiden over 1400 in Pau whilst Be Ahead, a two year old filly out of High Spice, breaks her maiden over 5 furlongs in Wolverhampton. She may head for a Listed 5.5 furlong race next time back in France. Insightful (Dream Ahead) had been […]
Power Player, bought as a yearling by Mark at Tattersalls, broke his maiden over a mile at Ayr yesterday. Hitting the front 2 furlongs out but was headed at the furlong pole. However he battled back to take the contest by a neck in a thriller. Great training performance as he has had to be […]
Raakib Alhawa, winner of the prestigious Haynes, Hanson & Clark Stakes at Newbury on debut last September, and who has been tried three times in hot company since, where he had only beaten two horses home, came from last to first a furlong out, albeit bunching up the opposition, to rebound to great effect to take the […]
Be Ahead, the product of Mark’s breeding plans being by Dream Ahead bought by Mark as a breezer and out of the beautiful High Spice, made a classy debut in Deauville coming a decent third in a quality debut maiden race over 6 furlongs. She should build on that if she can overcome her greenness.
Great training from Ed Vaughan is bringing rewards for Attorney General. Nice to see the full brother of Visionary break his maiden so comfortably. Mother and father bought by Mark as babies.
Last weekend was a bumper weekend for Mark’s purchases with Lady of Shallot, a Book 1 bonus winner bought by Mark as a yearling, winning a valuable handicap at headquarters and La Yakfi, bought by Mark as a yearling at the Deauville Arqana October Yearling Sale winning an even more valuable Class 1 handicap at […]
La Yakfi, a colt bought by Mark at Arqana October Yearling Sale as a yearling for a mere €30,000, defied top weight to score again in a Class 2 handicap in Lyon. Now rated 90, he may head to Royal Ascot for the Brittania Stakes over a mile. A brother to two black type winners […]
La Yakfi, bought by Mark for €30,000 at the 2017 Arqana October Yearling Sale broke his maiden in fine style bringing his earning so far up to nearly €60,000. He is a bonny colt bred beautifully by Makfi out of a daughter of Simply Perfect and Galileo. Hopefully Royal Ascot bound.
Congratulations to the new connections of Midsummer Knight (GB), 4yo gelding, ex High Spice (Songandaprayer) winning over the minimum at Al Rayyan, Qatar, on the 06 Mar.
