Gelding seems to have been the key to an improving three year old Alizoom. He is so well bred there was a hesitation to do it but now it seems to have been the right thing to do. Bought by Mark as a breeser for 75,000 guineas.

On the 19th April at Brighton over five and a half furlongs, Visionary achieved a cosy debut victory, giving his sire his first Northern Hemisphere two year old winner of 2016. It is the first victory where both sire and dam have been purchased by Mark. His dam Avodale showed some talent as a two year old but fell out of love for the track at three. She is a good looking daughter of Lawman out of a Nashwan mare. Below is a picture of Visionary as a yearling obviously about to grow!

Mulled Wine’s brother Mudtaahij was a very game second in the Dubai World Cup earning over £1.3 million in prize money. Mulled Wine has just foaled a filly by Rajsaman who will benefit from having a millionaire under her first dam.

Homebred four year old More Spice won the opener at Lingfield on January 12th and Crossman purchase King of Dreams achieved a double for Mr Dasmal (and Jamie Spencer) when taking the feature.

Mark has purchased two new mares for the coming season: Firstly from Sheikh Fahad he purchased LOUVERISSA a nine-year old sister of dual Guineas winner and sire Cockney Rebel in foal to Bated Breath for 15,000 guineas!

Then in Deauville France, we picked up Vin Chaud’s ten year old dam MULLED WINE (by Night Shift) in foal on an early cover to Rajsaman. She has proven herself with four winners from five foals of racing age including black type Vin Chaud bought by Mark at the the same venue as a yearling.

Team Dasmal has twelve new yearlings to go to war with in the coming season, four are Dream Ahead homebreds and five have been purchased and will run in France.

What was looking a relatively quiet season for Team Dasmal has had a sparkling back end with three horses emerging as attractive Dubai Carnival contenders.

Majeed won yet again on the all weather and is now rated 100 by the BHA having started the season on 77. that mark opens the door to plenty of winter opportunity.

Vin Chaud’s spread-eagling of the Prix Millkom field earned him a hike in the weights to 52Kg (520 rating which is a UK equivalent of 115). This has earned him an invitation to the Hong Kong mile and he is also available to duty in the big winter races in Dubai. He can miss the early soft ground action in the spring and be ready for the summer there.

Speed Hawk showed again improved form since his gelding in the Rous being just mugged on the line. We expect he will enjoy his winter at the Festival.

The penultimate week was a great one for Mr Dasmal starting with Starboard winning at Chepstow, followed by Majeed in a tight photo at Kempton, capped off by Vin Chaud winning the Listed Prix Millkom at La Teste resulting in a Group level rerating from the French authorities. He is now off 520 for his four year ols season.
